Hello. I have a smoke bush which is 4 years old.I has never flowered.
Every spring I prune it to near groud level as this is what the label
said. I have been told that you shouldnt prune every year. Is right if
so how and when sould I prune. The longest stems are about 6ft( 6 or 7

Update on "blind" sunflowers26 Aug 2008 17:23 GMT3
well, they are blind no more.
The tallest one (easily 8 or 9 foot!  Taht's just not natural!) is now
sporting a big yellow flower at the top, and has a couple of side
flower buds slightly below that comign off the main stem.

i even hired my sister by the hour to pull them. (close to $500. later
more weeds are growing.)
we have several berms with new trees and some perennial gardens.

Hey there
I put up photos of the elysiums that are growing in my melbourne garden
during our winter. We don't usually get frost. So a lot of things just keep
on growing - similar I guess to NH's Spring conditions.
