Apple tree02 Aug 2008 03:53 GMT9
We have an apple tree with a few main stems and a few suckers (soon to go).
My aim is to make the tree fan shaped, with only one stem and a darn sight
less branches than now.
My problem I have never pruned an apple before. Any advise other than ground
How Long Till Roundup Works?02 Aug 2008 02:58 GMT13
I bought some Roundup weed killer yesterday.  I sprayed a part of the
fence line.  How many days does it take for it to kill the weeds?  I am
hoping Roundup would first kill the weeds, then I would take a weed-eater to
them in a week or two after Roundup does its job.

Tree root danger? ? ?02 Aug 2008 01:21 GMT6
We have a spruce or fir tree which came up on its own, about 10 inches from
the foundation of our house. At first it seemed to be just a shrub, but it's
now grown into a tree about 30 feet high.
We like the tree, but we're concerned that the root system may endanger the

I live in south eastern Ontario, Canada.
I plan to buy a maple (probably red maple but not 100% sure) from a local
landscaping place.  Their maples are roughly 10 feet tall in 24-36" diameter
pots.
