blackflies on runner beans05 Aug 2008 16:15 GMT7
I am growing some beans and they have patches of black flies on. The
beans seem to be growing regardless. Should I be worried or is it just
a cosmetic problem? I would think that if the flies are drinking sap
or something, they are using energy that the plant would otherwise use

That's my girl. All else is forgiven. A gardener without 'em

Am I too late05 Aug 2008 12:25 GMT8
Have just discovered some dahlias and begonias in shoe boxes in the garage
where I put them to store last year. They all have 3 - 4 inch shoots on
them.
If I plant them now - in pots - will they do anything this season?

Fun ways to use Cayenne pepper04 Aug 2008 18:15 GMT1
I found a really easy way to make Fradiavlo sauce today!  I just took
one of the big green Cayenne peppers from my garden, chopped it into 4
equal pieces and dropped them into a pot of store bought sauce.  The
sauce is a really good Marinara that I love anyway.

Grapes04 Aug 2008 01:37 GMT3
Today, we went into the garden.  A mostly ignored neglected place that we
had high hopes for last spring.  We found a few edible things, and thigh
high weeds.
BUT, along the wall were lots and lots of grapes.  Some as small as a dime
