Petition to ban that herbicide.14 Aug 2008 09:55 GMT27
Please sign this petition asking the Government to bad this long lasting
herbicide that is the cause of so many crop failures on allotments and
gardens that use Horse Manure. I might add it's not just muck it's in, it
can be in crops planted a year or two after the field sprayed ...

a conservatory. We live in Formby Merseyside, not too windy,
Educate me about Zinnias14 Aug 2008 07:48 GMT10
I'm not much of a Gardner, but I would like to learn a little.
I had a sprout where I wasn't expecting one and decided not to pull it as a
weed, and a great looking little plant with vibrant red flowers w/ yellow
centers grew up.  In researching it I've decided that it's a Zinnia ...
Extending The Potato Season14 Aug 2008 03:25 GMT1
I've been planting potatoes for a number of years with good results but
wondered if there is some way to keep potatoes growing longer. Here in
Maryland, U.S.A., the potato plants start to die back in late August. When
they're totally withered, I harvest the tubers in the hills.

Impatiens problem13 Aug 2008 22:19 GMT14
Most of my buzzy lizzies are dying with something that looks similar
to the dampng off disease you can get in young plants.
The plants are from several different sources and are spread around
the garden (which is a decent size front and back) and also in the
cardboard in compost13 Aug 2008 22:10 GMT3
I have been putting regular brown cardboard in bin, cut up, I am not sure if
I can put the shiny coloured stuff in as well. Any hints, tips?  thanks.
Getting Creeping Fig to Stick to Wood, Vinyl and Concret walls13 Aug 2008 21:05 GMT1
We've planted creeping along the three external walls surrounding our
backyard in the hopes that it will eventually cover the old wood,
boring vinyl and old concrete slab walls respectively.  Some of the
plants seem to be creeping, but the ones along the concrete and wood
Cherry tree13 Aug 2008 17:05 GMT26
My partner suggested we plant a cherry tree on our front yard and,
before I do so, I wanted to come in and ask if there are any types of
fruiting cherries which produce pink blossoms.
I know ornamental cherries do, but I'm very interested on the fruit as

Mixing Chemicals?13 Aug 2008 13:32 GMT8
All:
I know I can mix certain fungicides with each other. My question is, which
of the following, if any, would also be compatible with Orthene? Any? None?
Cleary's 3336; Subdue; Phyton; Physan.
African Violets13 Aug 2008 05:42 GMT1
How do I get rid of mealy bugs on my AV plant? I would prefer an
organic solution.

Bahaya Grass12 Aug 2008 22:52 GMT2
What's the best way to take care of Bahaya grass infestation in a Fescue
lawn late in the season.  I did use a pre-emergence early in the year
but I tend to get some Bahaya in certain parts of the yard about this
time, later in the growing season (Southeastern U.S.).
