| Highgrove | 29 Jul 2008 03:25 GMT | 58 |
Today we visited Prince Charles's garden at Highgrove. Ray went about 4 years ago but I'd never been. It was a 'special' visit in that it was a group which had bid for entry in an auction at a Prince's Trust 'do' in various parts of the UK and my son had done this and given it to ...

Last Tuesday I discovered a skunk in my culvert trying to feast on my recycling. It walked funny and grumbling - no doubt rabies or other ailment. I backed away and called Animal Control - who may or may not have shown up.

| Triffids | 28 Jul 2008 17:12 GMT | 6 |
Which is better, the 1963 version of "Day of the Triffids", or the 1981 British mini-series? (I haven't seen either yet, nor read the book. I do know it's not supposed to have a "happily ever after" ending.) Thanks. Bob

| fruit acidity | 28 Jul 2008 16:17 GMT | 23 |
Is there any way of reducing the acidity of fruit other than by smothering it with pounds of sugar? I'm wondering if there's any cooking method or other treatment available to the ordinary person. I like the very tart fruits like gooseberries, blackcurrant and rhubarb (nominal
