making soil more acidic17 Jul 2008 16:49 GMT8
Some small azaleas we have, have not done well in their garden pots,
presumably because we didn't use ericaceous compost.

anything we can add to our garden soil to make it more acidic where we are
Color change in Roses - is it PH sensitive17 Jul 2008 16:20 GMT5
My beloved planted some deep purple roses - I don't have the name as of yet -
and after the second bloom the color is a lighter shade of purple.
I'm thinking that the PH of the soil, clay and planting soil mixed might be
altering the color.

Plum & Greengage trees17 Jul 2008 09:45 GMT2
I'm planning to plant two trees in my garden and would like to have one
of each of greengage and plum. Can anyone recommend a self-fertilising
species of each or would simply having the two trees of similar fruit
satisfy the need for cross pollination?

Spring onions17 Jul 2008 04:45 GMT3
OK, so I bought some spring onions to use and since the price was
right I bought a few extra bundles.  The fridge was full so I kept a
bundle in a glass of water like cut roses.  Lo and behold, they

Original Organics at Gardeners World Live 200817 Jul 2008 00:24 GMT8
On 14th June I attended GWL at the NEC and ordered an Original Wormery
for myself and a 30ltr Junior Wormery for the local school, from the
Original Organics show stand, but nothing has been delivered yet.
I've tried ringing them and the answering system says that they are
Trimming Pin Oaks17 Jul 2008 00:06 GMT10
Where can I find instructions for the proper way to trim this
sensitive tree? My Google searches aren't successful. Every time I try
tinkering with the limbs, the entire branch dies... even when I trim
at a joint.

Bosch Quiet Shredders OK for Mixed Waste?16 Jul 2008 19:58 GMT13
I am looking for a garden shredder and answers to an earlier post were
pointing me in the direction of the Bosch quiet shredders.  I am looking
at the  AXT2000 HP, which has the spiral cutting system, rather than the
much more powerful AXT2200 HP, which is probably a bit over the ...
