I have some grafting to do. Would clingfilm be a suitable material for wrapping the grafts? It's available in the shops, though in rather wide rolls, really I would prefer a roll about 3" wide, the material I want to graft is quite small. I can't FORESEE any problems, but it's a

I've been given a hardwood cutting and don't know what to do with it. I've stuck it in the edge of an unglazed clay pot in potting compost but have no idea if that was right or if it will strike. Not that I need a gooseberry bush but it would have been churlish to refuse

(after an energetic discussion on another forum ;) do you virus test plants you sell? do you sterilize tools you use between plants? do you use latex gloves? how "sterile" is your technique for handling your plants?

I grow quite a lot of peas,and try to select those which have a very good flavour as well as giving a reasonable crop.This is my experience over the last few years and would welcome comment.The heights I quote are pretty approximate and depend on soil condition.

I've sown forget me nots and recently pricked them out into plugs, but they have to move on in another month. The borders I want them for are of course packed full. Do they just sit in the plugs until October?
