Saw that Obama has a shot.  I voted for him in the primary but I
wonder why Hilary stalled.  Aside from policy they espoused which I am
ignorant of I sort of feel that Bill Clinton hurt her a lot.
Bill is a smart guy like Gore both Rhode scholars.  So why did Bill
poisen ivy--scotts roundup poisen ivy06 Jun 2008 00:52 GMT4
forget it--used it on rather large infestations--only areas it did anything
to was the leaves that it was sprayed on --wilted after 10 days so
far--nothing appears systemic--no major temprature changes during the last
10 days--i would not reccomend it--at least for poison ivy in ...

Does anyone have any experience of the above plant?
I am trying to find out it's final height.
The label says 75cm (30 in), in which case I have the perfect place.
Whilst looking up on the internet I found a website which said it woul
First pickings from the garden! Yay!05 Jun 2008 23:29 GMT2
Hi Y'all!
Thought I'd drop in to see how everyone's gardens are going...
I got my first pickings from the garden peas a couple of days ago. Have
more that should be ready to come off today. We were a little slow
clover lawn - need advice05 Jun 2008 22:55 GMT11
Our new Church (in Maine) has a very large lawn area on leveled, post-build-new-lot soil, which is not too good
(since the next addition will go there, eventually). It has spotty lawn at the edges while the remainder is
flush with clover.
My current plan is to leave the clover ...
Anyone heard this before05 Jun 2008 22:45 GMT46
A friend of mine said she boils a couple of garlic cloves , leaves the water
to cool and then adds it to the water she is going to water her plants , and
says she never has any problem with slugs as.
Said does it about twice in the summer months

being a good wife :-)05 Jun 2008 20:31 GMT7
Husband muttering about how much petrol he is using to mow the lawns, I
offered to use a push mower to do the smaller ones, he didn't laugh but I
got the impression that he didn't think it was a good idea, I went off
muttering about how some of us could use the exercise--------  ...

The newsgroup appears to be being treated to a reposting, entry by
entry, of the contents of "Gardening for the Million" by Alfred Pink.
Perhaps the poster could be persuaded that it might be better (and less
work for her) just give the URL rather than repost the entire book.
My courgette seedlings eaten alive!05 Jun 2008 16:59 GMT7
Returned from a brief trip to find my courgettes (which were probably late
anyway) destroyed. Is it too late to sow more? I know I can always plant
some and see but really it is the space - is it worth keeping the space
clear for them? I could use it for something else but ...
Old garden tools05 Jun 2008 16:05 GMT9
I've just come across this delightful website, which appears to rent
out old garden tools as props.
My personal favourite is the glass cucumber straightener.

sharpening lawn mower blades05 Jun 2008 15:56 GMT5
I apologize if this has been brought up before, but its new
to me.  My neighbor just discovered that you can do a
great job of sharpening lawn mower blades with those
cheap hand held knife sharpeners...the ones that wrap
Any tips for a beginner?05 Jun 2008 14:30 GMT14
We're just about to embark on our first-ever veggie patch and I wondered
if anyone might have some tips for us? The reason we haven't started
before is that our block is boggy and spongy when the winter rains come,
yet arid and awful in the heat of summer. It finally dawned on me ...
