had been calculating for.
Not sure I could go for three thousand pounds for a greenhouse even if
Drip Irrigation and Landscaping Fabric14 Jun 2008 22:59 GMT4
I am going to be installing a drip irrigation system for my shrubs.
Some sites say to install the lines above the mulch, while others say
below it.  I think I'm going to install it below the mulch so that the
lines aren't visible.

Uncovered a rabbit nest iin my half-barrel planter14 Jun 2008 21:11 GMT79
Just discovered them while trying to put in some big Coleus. What on earth

if anything, should I do? I don't want them in there. Will the mother move
them for me? Abandon them? What if I do (or don't) cover ...

Local police have just given me a Smartwater kit to mark all my garden
equipment, workshop tools, indoor shiny things, and my Land Rover major

aluminium weighing 3 pounds, now that is bound to get nicked.

the garden!!
"A man has died after inhaling lethal spores which grew on rotting compost

Help with saving peas and bean seed.14 Jun 2008 16:46 GMT10
Last September I saved back 20+ pods of dwarf and French climbing beans and
also some sugar snap peas. I allowed them to dry out on the parent plant.
The condition of the seed wasn't pristine and I dried them on paper for a
day. Although I placed them in airtight containers, most ...

We are seeing more ticks this year than ever before. Lots of nymphs.
Check yourself even after walking in grass. They seem to be everywhere.
Treating a new tanalised fence14 Jun 2008 12:01 GMT8
Just ordered all the feather edged panels to put up myself.  Having
visited the DIY stores, I'm feeling a little swamped by the different
treatments.
The stuff we've ordered is all tanalised.  The (eventual) effect we'd

Are animals he/she ?14 Jun 2008 07:47 GMT15
This may be more appropriate for the English language section, but perhaps
gardeners also have animals. Such animal lovers will affectionately refer
to their pets as a he or she. However, I have noticed that this use of language
has increasingly become standard English, e.g. BBC ...
Lack Of Trees In Irish And British Countrysides14 Jun 2008 07:42 GMT118
TV documentaries and travelogues reveal a lot of lush "green" in those
countrysides but a relative scarcity of trees.  Is it climate?  Too
windy in Ireland?  Sheep and/or other livestock?
