Tomato fruit set16 Jun 2008 03:36 GMT3
How can you tell if the tomato ovary has been pollinated when the flowe
drops off?  I'm trying to find out if my flowers that have fallen of
have been pollinated or they are suffering blossom drop.  I can see
little pod where the flowers were but I've read that doesn'
Can onions be eaten?16 Jun 2008 02:32 GMT6
My Autumn planted onions are a good size, still growing and not yet
ready for storage. However would they be OK to eat?  I know they will
not be poisonous but am wondering about their flavour. Thanks.
Help with petrol mower16 Jun 2008 01:23 GMT1
I bought a petrol mower around October 07 from an online supplier. Its
a Qualcast.
My problem is that after using only twice it seized up due to a
crankshaft issue.
Roses in a half barrel16 Jun 2008 00:59 GMT2
Just bought some David Austin roses. I want them going over the front door.
As I dont have border space is it OK for them to be put into a half barrel?
I ask because I am wondering about the frost. I am in Lancashire.
Thanks Sam

Natural gardner - the cat15 Jun 2008 17:23 GMT3
My cat seems to be doing a pretty good job of keeping the garden free of
pests this year.  Normally he's pretty oblivious and attacks things that I
WANT in the yard - this year he's going after mice, moles, squirrels, and
racoons.  The only thing he is going after that I wish he ...

Where can I get grafting elastic?15 Jun 2008 12:06 GMT3
Many sites giving help on grafting recomment Parafilm. I got some and
I found it very difficult to work with. I have also tried electrical
insulating tape. That is hard to work with too. I haven't yet tried
the "grafting tape" shown in :-
Difficulty starting a Honda strimmer15 Jun 2008 11:51 GMT3
I have a 4-stroke Honda "Brush cutter" as it calls itself, though I
would call it a "strimmer", type UMK425E. It took 2 men to start after
the winter and I cannot start it all after it stood idle for 3 weeks-
surely a normal length of standing for a tool of this kind.
Could somebody ID this plant please?15 Jun 2008 10:43 GMT5
Does anyone know what this is? My next door neighbour gave it to me,
and she doesn't know what it is either. Thanks.

Clematis question for Charlie15 Jun 2008 08:47 GMT2
Do you know of a repeat flowering Clematis, preferably white?  I know
Raymond Evison has bred some repeat flowerers but they're low growers and
I'm looking for something 'normal' in growth terms.
Two  ?  favorite garden mistakes I've made15 Jun 2008 06:05 GMT1
Early on I went with a shotgun approach just purchasing one of various
varieties to see what would do well here.  Learned a lot and propagated
the ones that made it.  Nagging thought what if the demise was not the
plants fault. What am I missing?
