Well, a Spiraea "Goldflame" that I have had for 30 years, pruned back

cut it back to ground level - a 1' diameter rootstock, no less.  So,
will it live or will it die?  Bets are now being taken ....
Are there plants specifically used to create wind protection?31 Mar 2008 21:52 GMT4
I would like to plant an ornamental cherry tree in the middle of my
garden -- problem is, it gets rather windy and I read that wind will
cause the petals of the flowers to simply wash away..
I would really like some advise on how to stop the wind from coming

I've found a mass of jelly blobs with what looks like yellow eggs i
them in the patch of earth next to our pond - i've no idea what the
are but they look like they could cause trouble if they hatch.
Does anyone have any idea what they could be and how to get rid o

I have a few Stargazer Lilies around my house.  I purchased a pot of

Blueberry bush question.31 Mar 2008 15:42 GMT3
my blueberry bush buds have just started to open and the
leaves are spreading out. Some of the leaves are brown and curling at
the ends. What could be causing this.

Linking chicken wire31 Mar 2008 09:59 GMT30
I am building a chicken pen and intend to use weld mesh for the sides
and chicken wire for the top as I don't think I need that to be so
substantial.  What's the best way to link the chicken wire lengths to
each other?  Strips of wood between each length with the chicken wire

Strangers on my tree.31 Mar 2008 07:07 GMT2
We have a dwarf cherry tree that hosted some strange parasites last
year.  They were small, black, flat, shiny, slow-moving worms that
looked just like the flatworms that sometimes threatened Muldur on the
X-Files.  They ate lace patterns on the leaves.  Rosebush dust put
Damping off31 Mar 2008 06:15 GMT12
Has anyone tried moving the moldy plants outside? If so what were the
results? I moved my seedling into starter six packs, added a little
potting soil and put them outside two days ago. Plants still look
healthy and I am disinclined to intervene. How crazy does this sound?
why?31 Mar 2008 00:49 GMT2
i dont know anything about growing roses  ,  but 5 years ago i had

Opinions wanted for Meditation Walk31 Mar 2008 00:27 GMT8
I'm a firm believer in usenet, especially for opinions. This concerns US
zone 6-7, the western suburbs of Philadelphia, PA.
Three years ago, we moved from a small twin with a 20-foot front yard out to
Paradise. We now have a little over half an acre, with some interesting
