facebook for edible gardeners...or is it my MySpade?31 Jan 2008 23:34 GMT1
I realize that it might be totally uncool to mention this here, but
we've opened up a new social networking section of our website which
you're welcome to check out.  We're a 501c3 nonprofit group
(nonprofit, in every sense of the word) promoting home gardening and
propagating blueberries31 Jan 2008 23:33 GMT2
I live in upstate NY, in Otego, right near Oneonta.  I'm located
halfway between Albany and Binghamton.
I plan to start trying to propagate this year but haven't found any
advice specifically for my area.

Hi--new to this group. I am in S.Tx. and have some oaks, as well as an
Arizona ash, some kind of elm, and several others. They all have that
ugly moss growing on them. It may possibly be a little worse on the ones

I'm looking to boost my garden with either mushroom compost or some fertile
soil. Does anyone know what is best for immediate and long term
improvements and anywhere in South Brisbane that I can buy it?
Does anyone know also where I can buy cow manure or something similar?
Anyone recognise this31 Jan 2008 15:14 GMT9
This plant was labelled with what I assume was a cultivar name - 'Gill
Lewis' - but didn't have any indication of what genus or species it
belonged to.

Field beans (as green manure) - When should I dig them in?31 Jan 2008 13:44 GMT1
I planted some field beans on my vegetable plot back in November (as
green manure). They are now about 8" tall, on average. I gather the
idea is to dig them in at some stage. When should I do this, and is
there any special method to observe? For example, if I turn the soil,

The Way to Paradise30 Jan 2008 06:31 GMT1
We are all in quest of true happiness.  In this world, the idea of
true/perfect happiness is not feasible because this world is
inevitably doomed to total annihilation.  True happiness is found only
in dwelling upon Paradise, and enjoying its blessings.  However, none
Aero garden30 Jan 2008 03:31 GMT6
Saw the Aerogarden on the TV the other day. Looks great - I've been
thinking of getting one for herbs and chillies.
Any thoughts on them? I don't have any outdoor planting space, only tubs.
Thinking about Eucalyptus29 Jan 2008 23:02 GMT2
I'd like to suggest Eucalyptus perriniana to those looking for an attractive

had before I married Ray and David suggested it as a hedge.  It was coming
here to get them that led to me marrying Ray. I duly ...
