Awful Quite, What's Everyone Up To?02 Nov 2007 14:03 GMT16
Myself, I'm busy with building a fence for the hounds so they have an
outside run area during the day instead of hanging out in the house.
Got pics up at http://www.hildenbrands.com/gallery/dog-run/gallery/ if
anyone is bored.
Replacement tree02 Nov 2007 13:54 GMT11
My dwarf pie cherry tree has died, perhaps from old age.  At least I
found no patent signs of injury or disease.  We removed it and dug out
the stump (no easy task on an older tree).
I want to put in a replacement, but not a dwarf.  The place we had the
Ivy ID02 Nov 2007 11:45 GMT8
By sheer chance I found that ivy I was trying to ID!!  We were asked out to
dinner with friends tonight and there it was in the entrance to the
restaurant that we went to with other friends two weeks ago.  I hadn't even
thought of it being there.   The leaf shown in the pic is one ...

Good News for Small Farms01 Nov 2007 17:31 GMT6
Subsidies to corn and soy beans producers that make more than $200,000 a
year makes no sense. The empty calories that they produce are making us
sick. The fast food that they support has created a model for the  work
place, where places McDonalds, and Wal Mart have 400% turn over ...
Clowesia Rebecca Northern 'Pink Grapefruit'01 Nov 2007 16:54 GMT5
Does anyone know of a vendor offering Clowesia Rebecca Northern 'Pink
Grapefruit'.  My searches on Google have been unsuccessful.  I saw the plant
two years ago and fell in love with it.  I balked at the price.  Several
months later, after continued longing, I recontacted the ...

We're back from Wales and while passing a florists in Lampeter I saw a tray
of these for sale. Having never seen anything like them before I went in to
ask about them.
The florist had no idea what they were but that he'd sold a lot. A customer

http://personalpages.bellsouth.net/t/h/theplanter/Confederate-Rose.html
about 3 years ago a friend gave us a dead looking stick and
told us if we planted the stick in the ground and watered it
once a day for two weeks we'd get a Confederate Rose bush.
