how many peas13 Mar 2006 22:29 GMT27
Am new to vegetables so sorry for this probably stupid question :)
I've bought some peas (Kelvader Wonder) and Broad Beans (Sutton). The
packets each seem to contain enough for a small field. What sort of yield do
you usually get off one plant? How many do people with small veg ...

Name of wild fern?13 Mar 2006 19:05 GMT20
There's a very attractive small fern that grows in little cracks in stone
walls.  It's fronds are only a matter of inches long, 6 to 8, perhaps and it
has quite a dark edge to the leaf and the stem is dark, too, though that
seems to vary.  It hugs the walls pretty closely.  Does ...
Hardy Asters13 Mar 2006 17:55 GMT2
We have tried hardy asters again, even though they don't seem to like our
garden (but do seem to do very well for most everyone else in this area).
Should last year's growth be cut down to the ground now or left alone? Maybe
we've been doing that wrong.
rose tree pruning13 Mar 2006 16:25 GMT5
We received a rose tree as a gift from a NYC florist.  I believe it
was raised for indoor office or lobby decor.  We live in the Hudson
Valley mountain range.  My question is does this type of tree become
dormant in the winter and does it require pruning?  It certainly looks

Fusarium Wilt on Runner Beans13 Mar 2006 13:08 GMT1
Does any one know of a cure for Fusaruim Wilt  on Runner Beans.
According to my local seed & horticultural supplier (Badsey Growers,
Evesham), I have got it in my soil. They say only way to get rid is to
have expensive sterilisation treatment.

Berry vine support13 Mar 2006 10:07 GMT2
After my poor berry plants being given minimal support and, for all
practical purposes, being neglected, today they finally have proper

semi-dedicated recycler and purchased both posts and wire at a farm estate
