Camellia prices at  B and Q?31 Mar 2006 23:04 GMT16
If anyone is heading to B and Q's garden section , could you please
let me know what they're charging for their smallest-pot-size camellias
this spring?  They don't have plant prices on their website.

Black phals?31 Mar 2006 21:43 GMT5
I wonder if there is anything as a "black" Phal. The one closest i have seen
is Dtps.I Hsin Black Jack "Black Heart" , but i would consider that to be a
very dark maroon.
Thanks
Please ID These Crocus-like Flowers31 Mar 2006 20:33 GMT3
Hi everyone: I live in Southern Ontario, Canada. In the summer of 2004
I had a new sidewalk put in front of the house - it faces south. In the
fall of 2004 I planted crocus bulbs along the edge of the sidewalk,
alternating bewteen yellow and blue.
Chitting spuds: newbie questions31 Mar 2006 18:09 GMT11
I have been chitting some spuds in the kitchen during March.
Most of them have a cluster of 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch stubby green roots
now sprouting from one end.
Some questions:
Cleaning and Pruning some Trees31 Mar 2006 17:06 GMT1
All,
I have a few black walnut trees that need a minor pruning. Is there
anything that I should put over the cuts to protect the trees from
insect and such?
Growing Mimosa pudica in Montreal31 Mar 2006 14:26 GMT1
Would somebody know if it is possible to grow Mimosa pudica in
Montreal? Will it _require_ a greenhouse? I suspect it is rather
difficult to maintain the correct temperature and humidity throughout
the year, even indoor, without using a greenhouse.
Cutting Daffodils 31 Mar 2006 14:23 GMT11
If I cut the daffodils growing in my garden for a vase, will it affect them
flowering next year.
Thanks

DENDROBIUM loddigesii & Dockrillia wassellii & phals31 Mar 2006 13:02 GMT7
I've had these 2 species for several years.  DENDROBIUM loddigesii bloomed
well for me for several years until we moved 4 years ago.  Maybe it is
getting too much heat in my new greenhouse or needs something that I am not
giving it.
correct way to water seed/lings31 Mar 2006 12:06 GMT4
I bought an electric propagator along with a zillion seeds. When the compost
dries out, what is the best way to water the seeds and seedlings ? - I have
heard that 'damping off' can rot them by over-watering.
Any general tips here would be appreciated
Reseeding a lawn..31 Mar 2006 07:18 GMT1
We've finished some major construction on our tear down and rebuild house,
and now our lawn is in need of reseeding in some large areas.. The soil is
predominately a black dense soil and the water table, at least at this time
is somewhere around 8-10" down in the low spots. I don't ...
How to remove MTD garden tractor front wheels?31 Mar 2006 04:58 GMT3
I need to fix a leak in one of my 11-year-old MTD garden tractor's
front tires. Anyone know how to remove the front wheels on this thing?
These are 6" tubeless type, and the outside of the wheel has a
loose-fitting black-plastic cap on the axle that wobbles around but
How do I extract/handle seeds from vegetables (such as Pumpkins, Carrots, Peas)?31 Mar 2006 04:42 GMT1
Can anyone tell me, or point me to a website, that tells me how to extract
seeds from vegetables, and how to handle them so I can plant them the
following year instead of having to by seeds from the store?
Seeds31 Mar 2006 03:58 GMT10

Morning glory Star of Yelta, moonflower.  Rosie O'Day alyssum.  Cleome Rose
Queen, nasturtium Cherry Rose.  Columbine Dragonfly hybrids.  Sweet pea,
Eckford's Finest Mix.  I yam so happy!
Gator blades anyone?31 Mar 2006 03:35 GMT1
The blade on my Snapper mulcher is worn out. It’s one of these “Ninja”
blades. My neighbour told me to purchase something called a “Gator blade”
instead of the Snapper original blade. Anyone here that has experience
with these blades? They are supposed to mulch better than ...
Hosepipe ban and RHS31 Mar 2006 02:41 GMT8
One basic question
Have the RHS got it right?
I am particularly interested in the greenhouse, as I have young plants and
they will need regular light watering (during the day when I'm at work)  so
