Wired doorbells have a transformer which is always on and always using electricity. This is yet one more thing in the house which does this like TV, microwave, remote control things, things with clocks, plug-in phones, etc.

I've been asked to mount an antenna and pole on the side of a mobile home. I'm pretty familiar with traditional (non-mobile) home construction, but I have no experience with this form of design. Where are frame members located (every 16 / 24 inches)? What size are they

I redoing my bath. Wife for years has been saying she wants a warm floor when she gets ready for work. I want to keep the woman working and happy.. Anybody done these with coiled up wire??

We had a slab built a few years ago and the builders simply built-up the earth to support a even slab, there are no concrete foundations...only dirt. The dirt is now eroding from around the perimeter of the slab leaving its corners hanging in the air. Anything I can do to repair

While searching for altenative energy information to possibly include in my encyclopedia, I came across what I consider to be the best "GREEN" cartoon ever. Mother Goose & Grimm covered the subject better than any other cartoon I have ever seen.

I'm laying a shed foundation of 3/4" crushed stone. Due to levelling issues, I'll be putting down around 12" depth of it (about 7 yards total crushed stone in a 144 sq. foot area). Question:
