Toilet on a slab grade29 Mar 2008 13:50 GMT3
I'm putting in an extension with a floating concrete slab and am
wondering about plumbing a toilet and wondering about setting it
right on the slab. The line will run out to a septic system and
was set a little too close to the surface so that the entrance
Laying a brick walkway28 Mar 2008 22:50 GMT2
I've put down sand prior to laying the first red brick of a walkway to the
front door. I've got 2-3 inches of sand simply because this brings the level
up to the bottom of the steps to the door.
Is it better to have less sand? Is it better to build up earth rather than

Gas prices here on the West Coast have risen to all time highs, some

we are supposed to be experiencing even higher prices.

Greets all,
I'm looking for a place to buy a "pre-formed synthetic rubber flashing

I've seen such things mentioned in books, but can't seem to find a source

Question about checking wall cavities (with digital camera?)22 Mar 2008 07:55 GMT11
I'm wondering if anyone here uses any type of small digital video camera
for inspecting wall cavities. Specifically, to reduce the amount of
patching, I was considering buying one of those little "wireless spy cams"
and attaching some bright LED lights to it so I could drill a ...

retaining wall issue21 Mar 2008 01:21 GMT5
Hello all -- I  need some ideas...
I'm planning a 160sq ft retaining wall that will not go higher than
three feet.  My wife found the stone that she wants at RCP block--a
local brick and stone vendor.
I removed the wall paper and left scars20 Mar 2008 17:37 GMT1
I did it in the bath . I started with hot water and vinegar 1to1.. let set
10 15 min.
I then scared the paper with a roller thing and spayed on DIF from Lowes..
It did better but left some scars.
