I have the opportunity to build an inside shower in a private location
right up against trees 2 stories in the air.  I would like to have
clear glass as two of the exterior walls of the shower making a kind
of treehouse shower.  This is in the northeast U.S. so they would need
My house has no overhangs29 Aug 2007 17:27 GMT5
I bought my first home a year ago. Built in the 1940's, fairly steep
shingled roof, newer alum. siding. Only thing is, it has no overhangs
at all, and I'm wondering if that is something I should be concerned
with? It does have a few vents on the high and low portions on the

I'm rebuilding the hearth on my fireplace from S&H - Stiles and Hart

information I have seen deals with anchoring sill plates into CONCRETE
foundations.

Flashing window in concrete cutout25 Aug 2007 05:46 GMT1
I'm installing a wood window in a basement where the wood frame
cripple walls are about 3.5' tall.  To maximize window height I cut
out a 1' tall section of the foundation, and the window will sit in
the cutout on a PT 2x6 sill plate.  What is the proper flashing detail
Chiminey Lining24 Aug 2007 00:21 GMT5
I have been researching chimney lining to determine whether this huge
expense is really necessary.  (Most houses this is not a huge expense, for us
it is $2500 per chimney, plus everything ends up costing at least twice what
is originally quoted, so we are probably looking at ...

This is a product that nobody is ever going to want to stop using. It just
makes perfect sense. Who is going to want to give up thousands of dollars
worth of savings every year? This WILL BE the next HOME RUN!
