My main problem with existing windows are that they are ugly. I am wondering if I will gain enough energy efficiency to make it worth spending money on new windows. The windows are in a north facing wall insulated with R-11 fiberglass.

Hey all, I am thinking of installing MDF wainscoting in my basement and was shocked to read that it has urea formaldehyde in it. So, when cut or sanded it is apparently dangerous.

Existing finished basement, I need to pull some more wires. Since I have an installed drop ceiling does NEC allow me to simply attach the newly pulled wires to the bottom of the joists or must I again (as I did when constructing) drill x # of inches from the joist edge?

Is there a market out there for brand new milgard windows that got ordered but were not the right size. They are Vinyl dual pane Lo E - no grids- double hung-nail on new construction windows.
