black rubber stain on wood30 Oct 2007 23:30 GMT1
The black rubber feet of a piece of audio equipt. has left brown
stains on a wood surface.  Any suggestion, please, for removal?
Otherwise, I'll  have to plop down some kind of less hideous mat to
hide them, as there's a smaller item on that surface now.

Water Heater Popping and Sizzling29 Oct 2007 01:17 GMT4
I have an AO Smith 100-gallon water heater that's popping and
sizzling. I'm pretty sure there's a sizeable mineral deposit on
the bottom that's creating these noises and has successfully
escaped my attempts at regularly flushing the tank for the last

I am wondering how to remove mouse smell from a vehicle that was

Cleaning bottom of stainless kettle13 Oct 2007 04:39 GMT4
I've got an old stainless steel coffee carafe, the kind they use (used?)
in coffee shops with the flip-up lid.  This does not have a copper
bottom. I use it exclusively to boil water on a gas range. Whistling tea
kettles annoy me and I find it faster to boil X amount of water in the

Swiffer alternative 11 Oct 2007 20:55 GMT7
I love my Swiffer, but hate the cost of the cloths.  My sister uses a high
quality paper towel that she sprays with a light mist of Endust for
Electronics.  I tried that, but it just didn't do the job as well as the
Swiffer.
