My kitchen cabinets are made of dark pine. I have used a mixture of 1/2 mineral spirits,and 1/2 linseed oil to clean and polish them. This works fine,except for the smell. I have to have doors and windows open for ventilation.

My dog has peed on both of them. She's a little dog... but I don't smell it until you lay on it and the smell waifs up so I guess I didn't notice when she did it? Any suggestions for getting rid of pee smells and stains? Anyone know

I am light sensitive, so wake up too early, because I hung white mini-blinds. Sleep masks are uncomfortable. Am considering the below options, weighing aesthetics and finances. 1. Put up curtain rod and hang dark curtains.

Last evening I had the pleasure of going to one of 'our' pub quizzes where know-alls sit discussing possible answers to obscure questions. I had the unbelievable good fortune of being asked to identify a circle with a red X on an item of clothing.

Mom told me I had to take the feathers out of the pillows, put them in a pillowcase, tie or sew it closed, wash them, then put them into new ticking. There must be an easier way ... can't I just throw them in the washer on the gentle cycle, then dry them with a tennis shoe like I ...

Just got back from long trip, and found that friend who was watering indoor plants had allowed water to seep onto beautiful wooden (alder) coffee table, and into inlaid end table (not sure what wood). Stains are very deep. Not just water, but have carried into the wood

I recently purchased a used univeral remote control (off ebay) that unfortunately was in a smoking home. The thing stinks of smoke, and the buttons themselves (which are made of rubber) are actually stained yellow (they used to be white) from the smoke. I took the remote apart

My vinyl floor (new house) has a thin layer of grit in the heavily trafficed areas making parts of the floor look darker than the rest. I can scrape it off with a scraper, but it doesn't seem to come off with just soap/water/scrubbing and I'm worried that I'm damaging the floors.

I have an aluminum pot that's been through the dishwasher a few times and looks like crap because of it. Will the smooth finish come back if I hand wash it from now on? Is there a way to get the old finish back?

I just bought a new car and want to keep it looking good however I do smoke which can leave a nasty buildup on the windows.Does anyone know of a good glass cleaner (besides Windex) that I can use to keep the windows clean? Thanks for any advice.

I was given a large white formica /chrome dining room table plus matching vinyl/chrome chairs. Nice looking but it does have noticeable deep dark stains on top of table plus hubby sat a heavy large cast iron dutch oven on top of table
