Glasses smell after dishwasher25 Apr 2006 02:38 GMT4
I got a nice new Bosch dishwasher and am very happy with the silence and how
clean it gets the glasses and plates.  My problem is frequently when
drinking a glass of water I notice my glass smells.  I almost don't know how
to describe it, but somewhat eggy or a little wet dog ...
Mice in attic crawlspace22 Apr 2006 23:01 GMT4
I have a storage area behind a kneewall accessible only by removing a panel
held in place with screws. It's opened in the spring, Fall, and Winter...
once each. It's well insulated, dry, and holds window air conditioners, Xmas
decor, and a window screen for my office. Nothing ...
Rubber blooms?22 Apr 2006 12:23 GMT2
I bought some plastic brooms (they look like straw blooms but they're
not natural straw, they're like some thin synthetic material) and saw
the store also had some rubber blooms. I thought about getting one but
hesitated. Are those things useful or just gimmicks? Are they better
You can't just wash that asbestos right out of your bed20 Apr 2006 00:32 GMT2
You see, it tangles in with other fibers and breaks off
into the air gradually! It even stays intertwined with your
body hair and the dust mites make it worse. Think
of that next time you lean on a plaster wall.

them somewhere until the wick gets smaller.
I'm so angry!15 Apr 2006 15:18 GMT17
I just read the new US News and Report and a poll indicated that women
spend on average 358 hours cleaning (per year not lifetime). UGH! I want to
throw something.
Blood on wood floor13 Apr 2006 07:07 GMT11
I have a wood floor that is quite worn, so most of the finish is gone.
Two of my dogs had a serious fight while I was at work, and the floor
was covered with blood. I mopped it up with hot water and "Clorox Clean
Up," which contains bleach. Most of the blood came up but now I see ...
Washing Machine with Automatic Program Selection13 Apr 2006 06:56 GMT2
Siemens has developed a washing machine that automatically selects the
right program for every type of laundry, a feature that reduces water
consumption. The appliance - "automaticWascher" - is equipped
with smart sensors that recognize how much laundry is in the drum, what
Ants11 Apr 2006 18:06 GMT4
It's that time of year again, unfortunately.  With the lovely warmer
weather comes the black ants.
We didn't get them last year, so that was a welcome reprieve.
I am looking for a 'non-toxic to humans and pets' method of dealing

Brooms versus vaccum cleaners?02 Apr 2006 17:01 GMT11
I'm finding these days that I no longer like vaccum cleaners. I'm
finding some zen in brooms.
I think it's that with vacuum cleaners I have to get them out, deal
with the cable, drag the thing around, worry about the cable being too
