I'm sure this question has been asked and answered before but does anyone
have a favorite cleaning product to clean plastic outdoor furniture?
Thanks,
Joyce
Cleaning tarnish from bronze28 Oct 2005 16:11 GMT2
I have a few small antique items made of bronze with sterling accents.  They
were very tarnished so I tried silver polish on them, which cleaned up the
sterling parts really well.  There are still stains on the bronze part.
What should I use on the bronze?  The brass polish I have ...
cologne27 Oct 2005 18:00 GMT1
My son spilled a whole bottle of cologne.  The whole house stinks to it.
How do I get rid of the smell???
Stains..27 Oct 2005 17:42 GMT3
I've some nice old cotton sheets and pillowcases that have stains due to
constant use, they've been cleaned, but are darker in the middle.
I've tried soaking them in washing powder, which usually does the trick and
very hot wash but nothing gets the darkness out.
tile cleaning27 Oct 2005 02:26 GMT7
I have shiny marbled tile in my kitchen, dining room and hallway. I am
beginning to really hate it. The shiny tile seems to grab the dirt and
shows every spot. Even if I mop the floor, the water streaks show up and
the floor looks dirty all the time. I don't want to spend ...
Recycling25 Oct 2005 22:34 GMT22
Is there a good recycling newsgroup.
Or is that on-topic here?
I figure that after cleaning comes recycling so it is relevant, but
maybe there is a better ng for this.
Speaking of TSP24 Oct 2005 01:55 GMT1
Speaking of TSP, I bought some and when I got home, I noticed it
contained no phosphates.
Later I saw Tri-Sodium-Phosphate itself for sale.
They both had warnings about eyes and skin.
Blood Stain Removal- Please Help!24 Oct 2005 00:39 GMT5
I have a huge problem here re bloodstains.  I was at work and got a
nosebleed, and now I have bled all over my office chair and desk.  I
was able to wipe off the desk and the arms of the chair, but there is a
blood stain on the chair's seat that I need to get rid of before work
Gum Removal21 Oct 2005 19:29 GMT5
Daughter-unit Beta stepped in it but good. With her fresh-from-the-box
Geox. <sigh>
The blob, now a fruity-scented, gravel-encrusted, twig-ensnared,
ground-into-each sole-crag oval, has solidified as if it was baked in a
clear glass shower screens21 Oct 2005 01:45 GMT20
after two months in this house i've discovered the second reason clear glass
shower screens aren't very common - soap scum!! (the first reason they're
not very common is entirely obvious, of course).
is there some common household stuff (vinegar? metho?) or some sort of
cleaning window fan blades20 Oct 2005 03:01 GMT2
At least once a year (@ end/beginning of season), I try to
clean the blades thoroughly. I usually use a damp dishcloth
and push/pull it around the blades. Ir's ok, but not as
clean as I would like.
cleaning humidifier fan blades & grill20 Oct 2005 01:13 GMT1
I have been stymied. Want to clean both the fan blades and
the grill through which the moistened air is released.
Both/each are too far 'buried' for me to really get in
there. So, each year, I am convinced, I am shooting dirt
Cleaning the moss and algae from my patio18 Oct 2005 00:14 GMT3
I have been out with my power washer trying to clean my patio without
too much success.
It is covered in green algae which the power washer is not removing
completely
Tarnished Metal17 Oct 2005 10:49 GMT2
I recently tried to clean my metal meat grinder by boiling it with baking
soda.  The result were a very tarnished metal that I can't remove.  How do I
get this dark tarnish off the metal.

Outdoor Windex17 Oct 2005 00:25 GMT3
I have used this with good results. Some windows are high, and I like
the idea of the hose end dispenser.
I find it kind of costly to buy the complete dispenser and detergent
every time it's empty.
