Automobile - Dirty Carpets26 Jul 2005 23:40 GMT1
My friend details cars a lot. Recently I learned that on severely stained
carpets, he mixes a solution of Oxydol and hot water, then pours the
solution onto the floors of the cars. After soaking a bit, he scrubs the
carpet then removes the residue with a wet vac. Isn't there a ...

My neighbor and I are going to share the rental of a power washer but don't
know how powerful of one to get. He has the toughest task; removal of mud
stains from around his house. His bricks are antique white (I assume the
color and pattern are baked into the bricks and not just ...

discolored toilet bowl20 Jul 2005 12:45 GMT2
I recently moved into a house and the toilet bowl is completely
discolored. It's not anything foul, it's just some kind of brownish
mineral deposit that will not come off. We are in a hard water area,
which I guess is part or all of the problem.
Putting a pillow in the wash16 Jul 2005 05:00 GMT3
I need to get a vomit stain off of a pillow. Unfortunately, it didn't have
the cover on it. (I know, duh, that's what they're for).
Can I throw it in the wash? Or will that rip it to shreds? What's the best
way to clean it, remove the stain?

Anyone know why this website is not working?
They have a microbe product that "eats" petroleum based stains.

Moth Ball Smell in Home13 Jul 2005 03:54 GMT1
I bought mothballs to place around the back of my house to keep animals
away.
However, I had them in the house for a short time and now can't get rid of
the smell. I keep the windows closed so the smell doesn't come in from

Carpet/Tar05 Jul 2005 16:03 GMT7
We have inadvertently dragged in some tar on the bottom of furniture legs.
We have used AFTA, Isopropyl Alcohol and another spray on cleaning product
that says it works for grease, etc. The AFTA has taken the bulk of it away
but the carpet is a beige and still shows a shadow.  ...

COIT any good? - Seattle05 Jul 2005 16:00 GMT1
We just purchased a home that's been smoked in for 14 years.
We're planning on hiring Coit to clean/deodorize and clean the heating
ducts before we move in.
Has anyone used Coit for similar services?  Anyone else better?
