I have a spare mattress and box spring that has been in a room that is
basically a workshop.  It is in good shape except that it was left
uncovered while various dust producing projects have gone on in the
room.  (Yes, dumb  I know)  I would like to now use/move the mattress
Oxalic or Phophoric Acid for Bathtub27 Feb 2004 06:22 GMT2
My bathtub is cast iron and 62 years old. The previous owner was
elderly and wasn't able to clean very well. It has quite a bit of
calcium, lime, soap scum and rust deposits. From reading this group
and various other sources I know I need to clean it with acid I'm just
bleach question26 Feb 2004 07:57 GMT1
Perhaps this is a chemistry question and perhaps it's a general household
stuff question, but here goes.  When I have a washing machine full of hot
water and white clothes (and detergent), and I dump in a bit of bleach, I
see the water instantly turn red-brown, then *just as ...
New vacuum time: Dyson?24 Feb 2004 18:21 GMT6
Can anyone comment on the Dyson bagless vacuum?  The extendable hose
looks interesting.  I've never had a vacuum where the extension tools

Would vacuum sweeper filter/bag work???24 Feb 2004 17:55 GMT3
My wife uses a CPAC. This is a  night time breathing aid for people with apnea.
It uses two filters, one is a washable foam rubber, the other is replacable

I have a feather mattress topper that goes on top of my regular

accident on it last night, and I am looking for the best way to clean
up the mess.  It's semi-dry at this point, and I'm trying to avoid

Does anyone have any comments (good or bad) on front loaders?  We're after
one that's a reasonable size and doesn't take half the day to do a load.
There's 2 adults and 1 child.
TIA.
Could humidifier be contaminated?19 Feb 2004 15:11 GMT1
I have an April-Aire humidifier on the gas furnace. The orifice was clogged and
it wasn't working. I finally cleaned it about 10 days ago, and it is now
working. And now both my wife and I have a cough, accompanied by phlegm and
runny eyes. I jokingly told her that I think there was ...

Hello, my name is Don Marsh, and I have been self-employed in my town
for over 20 years. I started my own window cleaning business in 1981
when I was giving blood plasma 2 days a week, and my family was on
food stamps, so I know how desperate you can feel when you cannot make
