I was invited to play horseshoes this weekend. I heard the object is
to toss the shoes and get them by a pole or something like that. This
sounds like fun, but I am a little confused. If I toss the horse
shoes, wont the horse get hurt? Tossing a horse against a pole sounds
abusive.

Nah, the horses love it. The best technique is to grab the horse by the
tail and swing them around over your head before releasing them towards
the pole. I suggest you start practicing immediately.
