Can you plant Daffodil bulbs in sand with good results?

Ummm, sort of.  Daffodils will have built up the food they need to form the
current season's flower in the previous season, so you will get flowers for
one season (provided you keep them moist etc) and then they will have spent
all their food reserves and you won't get flowers the next season after
that.

Seems a shame to do such a thing to daffs though.
