Having enough water for your plants is going to be a big part o
gardening. You should always pay attention to your garden and what i
needs to grow properly. You have to accommodate plants and make sur
that the dry soil is wet enough to nurture your plants and give the
strength to grow as you want them to.

Know your soil and what it needs. Each area is different and will nee
more or less water than others. You have to learn how to tell what you
soil needs and when it is time to water. Pay close attention so that yo
can keep control of your situation and let your plants do as well a
they can.

Once you learn about the soil and understand stand as much as you ca
about the plants, you will have a better time of gardening. You ca
watch as your plants do well and you know just how to water them an
what amounts to give. You are going to find it much easier to keep you
plants growing healthy and looking great

Two great articles on soil chemistry here:

Also here are some tree tips.
When watering trees, just water enough to moisten the absorbing roots in the
upper four inches of soil.  During drought the biggest problem facing trees
is over watering.  Of course in wooded areas where nurse logs have been
removed the water retentions capacity has also been greatly reduced.  This
leads to mortality during drought of trees of once fertile forest.  Course
woody debris greatly hold and retain water for trees and associates during
dry time when the wood has soil contact.  More on logging related problems,
post logging decadence:  http://www.treedictionary.com/DICT2003/SOUND/

More on that here:

Many tree problems are associated with the following: They are Case
Sensitive.

Unhealthy Trees from the Nursery / Improper Planting

Beware of so-called tree experts who do not understand tree biology.
Storms, fires, floods, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions keep reminding us
that we are not the boss.
Some people will buy products they do not understand and not buy books that
will give them understanding.

Perennials are one of my favorite types of plants to have in th
garden.Perennials are flowering plants that go dormant in the winte
and return each spring. There are literally hundreds and hundreds o
different types of perennials.
By planting different types of perennials in your gardens you can hav
color from the first of spring until a hard frost in the fall. If yo
are lucky enough to live in Planting Zones 8-10 you get to have colo
all year long!

As long as we're offering up articles with gardening tips, please
check out http://www.yoursmallkitchengarden.net. I write a blog there
to encourage people to grow produce in whatever space they have
available. There's not a lot of material yet, but it's growing... and
there are tips about tomatoes, broccoli, and pears.  Please have a
look and contribute to the conversation.

Well... that was boneheaded!  The name of the blog is Your Small
Kitchen Garden. The web site is http://www.smallkitchengarden.net.
Sorry if you clicked through and ended up getting nowhere.

ROCK GARDEN FOUNDATION PLANTIN

There is still another use for a customized variety of the rock garde
which has been taken little advantage of. This is referred to as “roc
garden foundation planting.”

There are a few such plantings effectively executed to feel conten
that there is a field here which has not yet been developed.
