Paving Bricks Hurt Foundation?

I have a brick and concrete block foundation to my house. Between the
foundation and the poured driveway is a 2'x20' planter. I want to
remove the planter to provide better drainage away from the house and
also to widen the driveway. What is the beat way to fill in this area?
I am thinking gravel then sand then brick pavers. Is there any danger
that the gravel will compress against the house foundation when a car
tire is on it and hurt the foundation? Are there any better ways to
replace the planter?

Thanks!

Will the tire sit on the new pavers? within 2ft seems pretty close to
the house to park your car.
Still most of the force will be down but I would tamp the gravel as
tight as posible and ues a slight slope away from the house to provide
the drainage. You could also pour 4 inches of concrete with a slope
over compacted soil/gravel mix.
For most drainage a 1 inch drop for 10 feet will do, if you get more
water than an aveage rain would give you might want to go 2 or more
inches.
