Cost of digging out and pouring basement floor.

My house was built in 1900. The basement floor appears to be lees the
1 inch thick. You can break it apart using a hammer. The basement is
about 1000 sf. How much would it cost to have this dug up and have a
new 3 or 4 inch slab pouted. I live in the Denver area.

why dig it up... its about 3 cubic yards of concrete.. call
the ready mix company and ask how much that is delivered...
they will need close access to your basement or you will have
to pay for cement pump rig and two guys for a few hours.

two men can probably finish that much in two days...do two
pours maybe. because its in a basement and you cant work
around round the edges.

figure at 600 to 1000 dollars for labor and 400 to 500 for the
ready mix...delivered...thats with no rebar... it should
probably have some rebar in it.. that could run up the costs
500 dollars or so...unless you do the work...then rebar might
cost you 150 to 200 dollars.

dont forget to install a floor sump so you can pump out any
water that leaks in.

If you have a very slick pro job done it will add value to the
home...if its a sloppy job it wont add value.
