Of course the answer is take it down and put up new sheetrock.
And the question is:
Got another one of these HUD fixer-uppers. in some bath areas walls are
all like they just had some mud slopped up to patch and painted over with
gloss/semi-gloss paint. Started to skimcoat. See the lines of fine dots.
Has to be from one of those wallpaper perferation tools. Must have been
old wallpaper there unsized and/or glued.
Anyway, a lot of these bumps under the paint are not just slopped mud.
Must be very top layer of wallboard bubbled/rippled from ripping down
wallpaper. Since it is separated, you can mud it forever and it will just
keep bulbbling cause it's wet.
Vs. the answer I said above, is there some trick to resolving?. Like
maybe wiping down with some liquid paste in water? Then I can skimcoat
and smooth.
If it was just a few spots, I'd just cut it out and mud over. But it's a
lot of these random bubble areas.
Thanks,
