I have a sour smell in my house. In the winter its there in the morning
and during the day if the house is cold. Fire up the wood stove and it
is gone. Would appreciate any ideas or experiences you have. Thankyou.

Cresol from the stove would be my first guess.

Never owned a wood stove, but an associate just told me he burned moth balls
to clean out his chimney. (!???)
Anyway, suspect a possible cresol buildup as a potential cause (smells sour
as I've been told).
