Can anyone recommend user friendly software for design purposes that could
also show framing plans? I'm not looking to become an architect overnight. I
looked at AutoCAD lt and its a bit much for me. Any of you contractors have
a program your partial to?  Thanks in advance for any replies.

You might look at Chief Architect.  Draws nice pictures, but is a little
on the short end when it comes to adding custom details.
