In the commercial world of chain link, our 10' gates are completely welded
with eyes on opposite diagonal corners & use a 1/4" diagonal brace rod
threaded on 1 end. The gates are fastened to gate posts of sufficient size,
placed in 3' of concrete, to carry the weight of the gate. (swinging or
slider) The first section of the fence is also the brace bay for the gate
and the fence run.

Level ground for aesthetics! Otherwise, the chainlink follows (should) the
contour of the land.
