I have a 4x6 landing and 3 stairs in the front of my house. The landing has
started to "cave in" and the stairs seem to be just fine. Any guesses as to
what may be under the landing? Is this somthing I may be able to repair
myself? Also.......if I can do the work will I be able to re-use the bricks?
Thanks for any replies.

The easy answer is "lack of support".
A close examination would be needed to give a good answer, but...
If the sides of the stair are in good shape, take the "top" off and
look.
Without a lot of care, the existing brick are probably not salvageable.
fill with a combination of rubble and well packed concrete.
