Hi guys

I am doing my undergraduate project and I will need to find how to
interface X-10 devices with my SW.  I have searched over the Internet
to no avail - maybe this standard is soo old that no-one is interested
anymore?

Help!!!

You could use a hardware interface and then talk to that. Do a google search
for cm11a

As another poster comments, you'll need CM11/CM12 hardware (or similar)
to connect your software to the X10 network.

In the meantime, if you google:

X10 Interface Communication Protocol

You'll find a lot to read.

The old standards tend to be the ones worth spending time with: money,
beer, sex - in that order.
