Different DVR recoders/camera systems?

Hi,

What are the different DVR based recorders out there (video card /
software). I'm aware of geovision but what else with similar
functionality exists? Are there a set of market leaders? I have tried
doing searches on the web but I can't manage to narrow it down the
actual systems as opposed to a plethora of dealers.

Do you want to narrow down your question a little bit?

Like what you want it FOR? Then you'll get better responses.

Linux/BSD support most of the 848 based capture cards.
See "freevo.sourceforge.net" for some handy software that
can be used for a large variety of apps (it's intended
to be a tivo-esque type thing, but the software collection
can be used as you wish).
