Hi,
I am new to HA and I am remodeling my house and as I get to new
rooms I am adding items as I go along, well I want to add Whole House Audio
and Video in it I am just running speakers and wires for now.
The question is what type of audio and video cables should I run???

Thanks

I got some Monster in-wall rated wire and ran the wire to in-ceiling
speakers in all the rooms. Those speaker wires were run to a media
distribution cabinet near the kitchen - in an easily accessible location.
For each room with speakers, I ran CAT5E wire from keypad locations back to
the media distribution cabinet. That takes care of audio.

For video, I used a Channel Plus system with 2100A wall plates... search the
groups for more info. If I had to do it again I would look into the Russound
CAV 6.6 which can do audio and video.

A new version of the residential cabling standard (ANSI/TIA-570-B) has
just been published. It calls for (6) x 16AWG or thicker conductors plus
(1) x CAT5E cable between the audio amplifier and the distribution device
(DD); (4) x 16AWG or thicker plus (1) CAT5E  between the amplifiers and
the zone keypads/volume controls; (2) x 16AWG or thicker between the
keypads and each of the speakers. That should take care of left/right
channel audio, remote low voltage power and signal (such as IR control)
distribution
