I had written several days ago about needing to run a splice extension of
Cat5E for the purposes of a phone jack only.  I got several ideas in terms
of splicing but I have another question.  When I get the extension to the
new location, can I just install a standard electrical 4S box with a single
gang mud ring?  This is how I have set up all of my other wall connections
for data and phone.  What type of phone connection fits inside of a single
gang mud ring?  Something like a RJ11???
There will be tile around this just as with my other electrical outlets, so
I must set it up properly.  Don't want to just run the cable through a hole
in the wall like with conventional RJ11 boxes that stick on with double
sided tape!!  Any advice would help.  Thanks.

If you can mount the box with little problem, you can get a plate with 1
or 2 rj-11 jacks.  You can also get a wall mount plate if the box is
high enough to put a wall mount phone there if desired.
